ADA BERRY

Ada's zines explore a variety of topics, mostly quite personal, but relatable to others with similar experiences. She incorporates photographic and mixed media approaches into her work as a way of bringing all of her interests together.

CATH ELMS

Cath is a singer-songwriter from Swansea, and one of the 3 co-organisers of the Zine Fest! She writes a feminist perzine called ‘Here in my Head’ and edits various feminist pop culture fanzines including 'Sonorus: Feminist Perspectives on Harry Potter' and 'Never Kill a Boy on a First Date: A Buffy Fanzine'.

EMILY AXTELL

Emily's work combines graphic design, collage, and questionable (but earnest) illustration skills with finding humour and delight in the ordinary and mundane. Plus an overarching theme of "queer people are just funnier and more interesting than everyone else" (true).

FREE THE NIPPLE ZINE

The Free the Nipple Zine is a platform for female artists to express their feelings on gender equality and the female form. A series of artworks are present in the Zine including photography, printmaking, painting and 3D work.

Hazard Press is based in the Vale of Glamorgan where Jeremy Dixon writes, designs and makes all his books by hand. He aims to create zines, badges and Artists’ Books that combine poetry, queerness, individuality, compassion and humour.

VIOLET WAND

Nia Davies is a poet, performer and editor of Poetry Wales. She lives in Swansea, and is researching poetry and ritual at Salford University. Rhys Trimble is a bilingual poet, text artist, performer, drummer, editor, critic, collaborator, shaman, staff-wielder and shoutyman based in Wales. The author of more than a dozen books, including Swansea Automatic, he is interested in avant-garde poetry and Welsh metrics. Nia and Rhys' work troubles toxic masculinity and the sexual cultures of the Swansea, Neath and South Wales, through experimental poetry and physical performance.

BEST PRACTICE

Best Practice makes zines that provide inclusive, creative and political (but never dogmatic) outlets for people to talk about their experiences of work. They aim to provide a creative critique of the modern state of work that priorities the voices of workers. Other zines on sale include Tiny Acts of Rebellion, a mini zine about being naughty in the workplace, and zines on Brexit, commuting, and how to use magick to find work. Best Practice are fun, colourful, but promote a serious anti-capitalist, anti-neoliberalism message in everything that they do!

HUMBLEBRAG COSMETICS

Humblebrag Cosmetics started in August 2017 when two sisters decided to start creating nail polish. They have since also created motivational zines, poetry zines, as well as zines relating to IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). The proceeds of the IBD zines will be going towards charity.

Kirsty writes the zine series Forever Incomplete about mental health, gay stuff, fandom, and trying to be an adult. She also co-edits Sonorus a popular zine series of feminism in Harry Potter. Her interests include exactly 3 TV shows, talking and writing about her feelings, and fictional lesbians.Her unhealthy behaviours of choice are coffee and self-doubt.

Olga's work revolves around personal experiences of unemployment, mental health, trauma, illness as well as feminist subjects including body hair and being childfree. But it's not all doom and gloom! Olga also writes about self care and ways in which we can learn to thrive in a hostile, capitalist environment.

Peter James Maggs is a Swansea based cartoonist and creator of the webcomic "The Many Strange Cases of Ghost Jones", an all-ages supernatural detective story about crimes committed by ghosts.

PUNKS 4 MENTAL HEALTH

Punks 4 Mental Health put on diy music gigs promoting positive awareness of mental health and challenging stigma. They have created zines that include snippets of interviews from the bands and musicians who have played some of the live gigs.
